Art with Code

Online workshop to learn the fundamentals of HTML and CSS by creating art through HTML and CSS.

What is Art with Code?

Art with code is a short (just 2 hours long) online workshop to learn the fundamentals of HTML and CSS, by creating art through code. The purpose of this workshop is not to teach you web development. Rather it will familiarise you to HTML and CSS, in a fun, hands-on way, just enough to navigate your way around them or start learning more.

Why learn to code through art?

Learning to make vector graphics teaches you about layouts, color palettes, manipulations of shapes, and overall creativity which does have a carry over to front-end development. Traditional methods of learning to code can become dry and boring. Creating art on the other hand is fun and engaging.

We will create graphics like this burger completely in code. Along the way you will learn the basics of styling HTML elements using CSS.

Examples

All of these illustrations are created by different people using pure code. No illustration software was used.
